Welcome to Year Six.
We hope that the children will have a fantastic last year where life-long memories will be made. Our aim is for children to reach their full potential in a fun and engaging atmosphere. We hope that children will develop their independent and organisational skills further. We expect children to be responsible for their learning and be motivated to learn. We endeavour to provide a relevant and challenging curriculum which will enable them to build on their learning.
This is an important year for the children as it is their last year at James Cambell Primary school before moving into Secondary School. During the year, children will be developing their skills in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. In the Summer Term, pupils are formally assessed in these areas, and parental support is really beneficial to help your child to meet their full potential. We hope that your children enjoy Year 6 as much as we do!
Every morning there will be a member of staff at the door to welcome your child into school, and will be available to answer any questions or queries. If you wish to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss anything further, please contact the school office.
