Welcome to Year Five.
We hope that the children will have a fantastic year where they will learn lots and have lots of fun. Our aim is for children to reach their full potential in a fun and engaging atmosphere. We hope that children will develop their independent and organisational skills further. We expect children to be responsible for their learning and be motivated to learn. We endeavour to provide a relevant and challenging curriculum which will enable them to build on their learning.
This is an important year for the children as it is the penultimate year before moving into Secondary School. During the year, children will be developing their skills in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. We are having a big push on reading, particularly developing fluency. Please can you ensure children are reading on a daily basis.
Every morning there will be a member of staff at the door to welcome your child into school, and will be available to answer any questions or queries. If you wish to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss anything further, please contact the school office.
