Welcome to Reception at James Cambell Primary School!
Reception is such an important year for developing basic reading, writing and mathematical skills alongside our personal, social and communication skills. We use a variety of teacher led and child initiated activities to enable children to develop their love of learning through exploration and creativity. We use the indoor and outdoor environments to access the 7 areas of learning.
Our aim is to help the children to become passionate and enthusiastic learners and equip them with skills that they will build upon throughout their school lives. Reception really is the best place to be…please excuse any mud or paint on our clothes!
We hope your child enjoys Reception as much as we do!
Every morning there will be a member of staff at the door to welcome your child into school, and will be available to answer any questions or queries. If you wish to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss anything further, please contact the school office.
