As a school we feel the health, safety and wellbeing of children is paramount and we are always working to ensure that our children are educated in this subject.
Awards are given to schools in recognition of their achievements in supporting the health and wellbeing of their pupils. We have received the highest award- the Gold award. In order to achieve this, we had to show the impact of the changes we have made and that these are sustainable. The children eat their lunch in the dining hall and are supervised by Teaching Assistants and Play Leaders. Meals are cooked on the premises. A cooked meal is available to each child or if they prefer, they may bring a packed lunch from home. As we are a Healthy School’s Gold Award winner, we do not allow children to bring fruit juice or fizzy drinks of any kind with their packed lunch. Water is provided for every child at lunchtime. Click here for our packed lunch guidance. At The James Cambell Primary School we follow our own Set Menu. Our menu follows a two-week cycle. Week one commences from 23rd February 2026 and week two from 2nd March 2026.
