PARENT VIEW

Parent survey 2021 results: your views matter!
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey in June 2021 providing your views on what you think the school does well and how we can improve.

Here are some of the results:
97% of parents said that their child felt happy at school
90% said that the school had high expectations of their child
95% said that their child does well at the school
92% said that there was a good range of subjects available at the school
82% said that they would recommend the school to another parent

And a few of your comments:

‘My children are happy and content to attend the school’
‘Very supportive and a good environment for pupils’
‘Kind teachers and patient’
‘Effective communication between the school and parents’
‘The messaging system is excellent.  If I have any concerns or I just need to give the class teacher a message they are read promptly and acknowledged very quickly’
‘I really like the values which are taught’
‘School staff are very friendly’
‘It is a well-structured school’

There are obviously ways we can improve and we are aiming for 100% of parents wanting to recommend the school to other parents.  Here are a few of the suggestions from parents that we are now taking forward:

As well as the after school and breakfast clubs, we are providing a range of other clubs.
We are running more events like year group assemblies and the Christmas Fair to which parents are invited.

We are improving play times so that there is more for the children to do.  We have installed new playground equipment in Key Stage 1 and we are also working on a project called OPAL to enhance the activities available to children at playtimes.

If you would like to put forward any suggestions for improvement, please feel free to contact the school and we would be happy to speak to you.

For Parents
Ofsted Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think of your child’s school, including:

 – how happy your child is at the school
 – how the school manages bullying or challenging behaviour

If your child has special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), we will ask how well the school supports them.

The questionnaire can be completed at any time – you don’t have to wait until the school is being inspected.

We will use your responses to help us plan inspections. The information you provide can:

-inform discussions inspectors have with school leaders during an inspection

-help Ofsted decide when to inspect a school

In addition to this, we also publish the overall summary of the responses to Ofsted Parent View. This information is anonymised.
